Rusty Wood - President
Mr. Wood has over 35 years of experience in the office products industry, having served as co-founder of BizMart, an office supply superstore chain, where he grew revenue to $365 million and 65 locations over a five year period. BizMart was ultimately acquired by OfficeMax. Prior to that, Mr. Wood was president of Stationers Distributing Company, with annual revenue of $100 million. The company was acquired by Crown Zellerbach, and is now owned by United Stationers ($4 billion, USTR: NASDAQ), the largest wholesale distributor of office products in the United States.
Mike Crist - Director of Operations
Mr. Crist brings over twelve years of business systems, data management and technology expertise. Prior to joining BizSupplies, Mr. Crist was a Manager of Trading Solutions for SalvageSale Inc., the leading auction marketplace for the global salvage industry where he was involved in building and streamlining the online auction processes and CRM systems. Mr. Crist was previously an Operations Manager for Telscape International and Excel/Telco Communications Group and a Senior Systems Analyst for a $5 billion unit of MCI Telecommunications Corp. Mr. Crist has a BS in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University.
Al Escher - Operating Advisor
Most recently, Mr. Escher was Executive Vice President - Operations for Landmark Graphics Corporation, a $400 million global software company based in Houston, Texas. Landmark is a wholly-owned but independently-managed subsidiary of the Halliburton Company. Mr. Escher managed all sales, customer support centers, data centers, training centers and consulting in this capacity, and was responsible for the company's P&L. He held other senior positions while at Landmark in marketing, logistics, product strategy and software development. Prior to his five years at Landmark, Mr. Escher opened the Houston office of Booz-Allen & Hamilton and was a Vice President at the global management and technology consulting firm. Mr. Escher received a BSE from Princeton University, an MS in engineering from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
E. Scott Crist – Senior Advisor
Mr. Crist is also a Managing Director of Crist Ventures and general partner of Venture Bridge, L.P. He has an extensive background as an entrepreneur and venture capitalist, having founded and profitably grown two technology companies to revenues of over $100 million each during the last decade. He was formerly founder and CEO of Telscape (NASDAQ), an integrated communications company focused on emerging markets. Mr. Crist was formerly President and Chief Executive Officer for Matrix, a telecommunications company, which ranked #7 on the Inc. Magazine list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the U.S in 1995. Mr. Crist has an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and a BS in Electrical Engineering from NC State University. He is on the board of several technology companies including Simdesk, SalvageSale and Bynari. Mr. Crist is on the faculty of Rice University's Jones Graduate School of Business.
